Bible Study Basics

You will go through a process to move from practical approaches to the Bible to intentional application for spiritual development. Through each module, reflecting upon personal discovery and application will be emphasized. 


The Bible study basics course will cover the following:


Level 1: Modules 1- 4
  • Introduction to the Bible
    Objective: Understand the structure, composition, and historical context of the Bible.

  • Bible Study Methods
    Objective: Learn various techniques for studying and interpreting Scripture, including inductive Bible study.

  • Biblical Genres
    Objective: Recognize and interpret different literary styles in the Bible (e.g., narrative, poetry, prophecy).

  • The Gospel Message
    Objective: Comprehend the core message of salvation and God's plan for humanity. 

Level 2: Modules 5 - 8
  • Old Testament Overview
    Objective: Gain a broad understanding of the major events, characters, and themes in the Old Testament.

  • New Testament Overview
    Objective: Explore the life of Jesus, the early church, and the epistles in the New Testament.

  • Biblical Theology
    Objective: Identify major theological themes that run throughout Scripture.

  • Character Studies
    Objective: Analyze key biblical figures and apply lessons from their lives

Level 3: Modules 9-12
  • Prophecy and Fulfillment
    Objective: Understand prophetic passages and their fulfillment in Scripture.

  • Bible Geography and Culture
    Objective: Explore the geographical and cultural context of biblical events.

  • Applying Scripture to Daily Life
    Objective: Learn how to practically apply biblical principles to modern situations.

  • Bible Study Tools and Resources
    Objective: Familiarize students with various tools and resources for deeper Bible study, including concordances, commentaries, and digital platforms
